Curious about what’s happening at the Waikato Students’ Union in Tauranga?
We’re not just copying and pasting stuff from Hamilton. Nope, we’ve created a whole programme of Support, Advocacy, and Class Representation specific to your needs as tauira in Tauranga.
And guess what? It’s still the good ol’ Waikato Students’ Union, so you know we’ve got all those classic events you love, like Toga parties, Quiz Nights, Student Ball – plus, we’re talking loads of giveaways, prize goodies, sizzling sausage delights, and yep, you heard it right, even a Nintendo Switch loaded up with Mario Kart!
We have built a phenomenal staff over there who are supported by your Elected Tauranga Director, Sophie Priddy. You can hit her up anytime to chat about whatever’s on your mind. So, don’t be shy! Get in touch with us below. We’re here to make your Tauranga campus experience the absolute best.
The primary purpose of the WSU’s existence is to provide a social and financial safety net for our tauria.
The escalating pressures on students arising from studies, relationships, the cost of living, and much more underscore the increasing importance of our support and advocacy services. The fundamental reason for this lies in our genuine understanding of the challenges associated with struggling to meet rent payments or encountering unexpected hurdles. We recognise that there are times when you may disagree with a lecturer or require assistance in serving as a class representative.
While most answers and resources can be found in our “I need help” section, our Tauranga staff serve as your primary point of contact. They will provide assistance, lend an ear, and ensure that your voice resonates throughout the process.
