Monday – Tuesday from 9.30am
Welcome back to the Pā-Cade! The second most popular part of DisOrientaion 24 (we see you, Night Market!) is back. And if you can get in before some of the lecturers do, then you can play arcade games in the Pā all day.
Monday-Wednesday from 10.30am outside the Pā
Seriously, did you even need to click this? It says free fries in the title.
Monday 1pm outside the Pā
Can you take on Su’s famous homemade subs in a quickest to eat contest?
Monday, 6pm in the Pā
Party in the Pā! What could go wrong? Featuring Hot Chocolates, Popcorn, Spot Prizes for Pyjamas, and the first ever game of THE FLOOR IS LAVA in the Pā! Yeah, you heard us right in the first two years of its life not a single group has marketed a floor is Lava game in there.
There is so much more happening in Pyjamas at the Pā so look out for us on Instagram.
Tuesday, 1.05pm at the Pā.
The Don Death Wings are back! And this time they are hot! Ten students, one death wish. Finish the plate first and win a tab at the Don!
Tuesday, 7pm in the Pā
Easily the crown jewel of last year’s DisOrientation Week. The WSU Night Market is just something a little different. Your chance to mix and mingle, get tattoos, buy from a number of stallholders and enjoy a delicious WSU pie or two.
Wednesday, 9.30am in the Pā
Clubs’ Day brings with it an unbridled joy that melts the cynicism from the rest of the week away. This is where it stops being about what food or drink brands we hand a student in an attempt to build loyalty through product placement, and instead becomes about the students themselves. Whether the Rōpū in question is Te Waiora performing on stage or the Tramping Club trying to get you in their van. Clubs’ Day reaffirms why we exist as a Students’ Union. It is to help students develop an experience that extends beyond the lecture theatre.
Thursday, 9:30am at the Pā
Are you Max Verstappen or Luigi?
To find out sign up here and join us for Mario GP.
Thursday from 1.05pm at the Pā
Ok! Hear us out! Let’s assume we always wanted to do a Treasure Hunt in the Pā and this wasn’t a reaction to one of our staff members spending their own money bulk buying figurines on Temu.
It’s an easy game; look at our Instagram on Thursday morning to discover the figurines that you should be looking for. Like the post to “enter” and every figure you find will put you in the draw to win a prize. Find the special figurines we hastily made gold, and you get an instant prize (Well, not that instant you still have to take it to our MnMs)
Friday, 9:30am at the Pā
It’s about time we found out who is the best FIFA player on Campus. The debate that has raged in your group chat for years gets settled at the Pā.
Sign up here and if you are one of the first 32 then you get put into an elimination bracket with your game time.
Every day from 9 am outside the Pā
Disorientation is a marathon, not a sprint, so start every day with our hangover-curing Breakfast of Champions.*
Located at the Pā for your convenience, if you can’t find us, then simply approach any longhaired ginger at a BBQ and demand they provide you with food. Breakfast is free, but probably not required if you just want to drink a blue Powerade and look tough.
*Editor’s note: The breakfast does not require a hangover, and if we are entirely honest, it probably can’t cure one either.
Monday – Pancakes, Tuesday – Bacon and eggs, Wednesday – Granola Station, Thursday – breakfast Muffins, Friday – French Toast
Monday – Friday, 12pm at the Pā
The Live Lounge is back, featuring four very talented musicians you should follow on Instagram… actually, just come see them live at the Pā.
Monday – Lehali (@justmerosalie)
Tuesday – Tahla Ward (@tahlawardmusic)
Thursday – Tyrell Tamaki (@music_by_tyrell)
Friday – Daniel Lansdaal @dan_and_his_guitar
Every day from 12pm outside the Pā
If you haven’t read the description for Breakfast of Champions, CLICK HERE.
Now imagine we wrote that but for lunch… but instead of drinking Powerade to cure a hangover, you are on your third energy drink because you are an absolute legend. Free lunch daily.
Monday – Butter Chicken and Rice, Tuesday – Beef Lasagna, Wednesday – Chickpea Curry and Rice, Thursday – Egg Fried Rice , Friday – Chicken Noodle Soup
Every day from 11 am outside the Pā
DisOrientation 2025 is LITERALLY the only time we can tell you that if you wanna bag we can suss it.
Wanna Bag is loosely based on some really old game show that your grandparents watched on TV (TVs are what old people watch Netflix on). The WSU will give three lucky winners a chance to pick a bag and play. For legal reasons, we can’t say it is basically “Deal or No Deal” with money, Pak’n’Save and fuel vouchers, but if we could, that is how we would describe it.
Wednesday – Saturday from 10pm $1 or a purchase at the bar
There is an indescribable beauty to the fragility of the human condition that one experiences when holding a student’s head back while they vomit into a bucket in the back of a bus, with the other occupants singing ‘College Hall is on the Piss.’ So, really, we should be thanking you for the opportunity. You are the real heroes.
And for those of you that really didn’t learn your lesson in A Trimester the WSU Safety Zone is back with food, and some water to help you pace yourself at the party.
Wednesday – Friday, 7pm at The Union @ The Don
There are two Universal truths in the world:
So come join the Nexus social media team in the Don with good music, working heaters and the Nexus Confession Cam.
Monday from 11am to 1pm in the Ātea
We may only be 10 minutes from the beach, and we’ve probably only surfed once or twice in our life, but one thing we know for sure is we like seeing our mates eat shi*t on a surfboard. Even better when we’ve bought the surfboard to Ccampus. Thanks to RPM MFG CO we’ve got some sick prizes that you could take home if you out surf your mates.
Notes: Clubhouse if raining or super windy.
Monday from 6pm to 8pm in Te Manawaroa (1.07)
Think your team has the brains and banter to take out Quiz Night? Spaces are limited, so register quickly. There are more prizes up for grabs than ever before, and probably some bragging rights too.
Tuesday from 11am to 1pm in the Ātea
Mini Putt: Like real golf, but not, and where the only thing lower than your score is your self-esteem. Perfect for dates, mates, and people who think they’re better at sports than they actually are.
Notes: Clubhouse if raining or super windy.
Wednesday at 11am in the Ātea
Think you can smash a stack of Bbig Mmacs faster than anyone else? Prove it and win prizes. Buckets on hand, chunny on you.
Notes: Outside 1.07 if raining or super windy.
Thursday from 10am to 2pm in the Student Hub
Whether it’s Running Club catching the sunrise, Lex Wāhine touring the Ddistrict cCourt, or the Ethnic People’s Association Association teaching us how to make a Ula Lole (lolly necklace), Clubs’ Day reaffirms why we exist as a Students’ Union. It is to help students develop an experience that extends beyond the lecture theatre.
Notes: Photobooth and Candy Floss Provided
Friday from 11am to 1pm in the Ātea
Come pat some dogs. That is all.
Notes: Clubhouse if raining, super windy or especially cold.
Friday from 9:30pm until late at Rusty’s Bar
Kicking off Tri B with an iconic DisOriDisOrientation Party, sick music, good venue and free shuttles, we’ve got you covered. Ppssst we might even shout you a drink.
Notes: Shuttles departing from Selwyn Street Studios from 9:30pm to 10:30pm and returning between 12am to 1am. Students to collect their free drink tickets from the WSU in 1.21.
Monday to Thursday from 9am at 101Café
DisOrientation is a marathon, not a sprint, so start every day with a Cinnamon Scroll – the true Breakfast of Champions. Scrolls are free, but probably not required if you just want to drink Musashi and look tough.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am in the Student Hub
DisOrientation is literally the only time we can tell you that if you want to bag it wanna bag we can suss it., we can suss it.

Monday – Wednesday from 12pm at the level 1 Kitchen
We’re benching the Sausage Union this week. By now you should know that we don’t check the nutritional value of the food we make, so obviously we’re giving you the yummiest (and free) lunch alternatives all week.
Don’t freak though, our beloved snags will be back next week.
Monday – Loaded Fries, Tuesday – Nachos, Wednesday – Mince and Cheese Pies
