Assalamu Alaikum and Kia ora, I’m Yasir.

I am originally from Kerala, India. I moved to New Zealand 12 years ago and have been in H-town ever since (someone pleashe get me out of here…). I am in my third year of a Bachelor of Management Studies with Honours degree. I am majoring in Supply Chain Management and minoring in Data Analytics and Business Analytics. 

Within university, I am also part of a few clubs.This year, I have the honour of serving as El Presidente for the Waikato Muslim Students’ Association (WMSA) and as a committee member for the Student Employees Association (SEA). Additionally, I’m a member of the Waikato Management School Students Association (WMSSA).

At WSU, I am currently serving my first term as General Director. So far I’ve really enjoyed my time here. It has been a privilege to be able to represent our amazing student body on the Board and learn a lot of new skills along the way. Within the board, I am part of the Academic Equity & Tauira Committee and the Internal Structure & Performance Review Committee.

Between juggling my university commitments, I find great joy in volunteering and giving back to my community. I hold various leadership roles within different community organisations, actively contributing to their growth and impact. When I’m not busy with all that, I love playing and watching football, travelling with my family and friends and most important sleeping. I recently joined a new Sunday league football team created by my friends (we are ass btw and you can blame Fuad for that. Let’s just say he lacks all essential managerial skills and expertise).
